Japanese Cultural Fair supporters,
We are pleased to announce the Twenty-second Japanese Cultural Fair presented by the Santa Cruz Japanese Cultural Fair Committee in conjunction with the Santa Cruz Sister Cities Committee. The fair will be held at Mission Plaza Park in the City of Santa Cruz on Saturday, June 21, 2008.
The fair presents a full day of performances on two outdoor stages and over 50 booths with the arts, crafts, and cuisine of Japan. Performances include San Francisco Taiko Dojo, Tsugaru Shamisen, Koto, traditional folkdance, Ikebana, Tea Ceremony, storytelling, Noh Kyougen, martial arts, Origami workshops and much more.
For twenty-one years, the Japanese Cultural Fair of Santa Cruz has provided an opportunity for the community to increase their awareness and understanding of traditional and contemporary Japanese culture. We believe that through education, entertainment, and exposure to their arts, crafts, cuisine and customs, we can improve mutual understanding among neighbors of the Pacific Rim and enrich our community life here in Santa Cruz and throughout the United States.
With your financial support, we can continue to provide the high level of excellence we have had in the past. You will be recognized for your contribution in our 2008 program and website(www.jcfsc.org).
We would be glad to provide you with any additional information about the Santa Cruz Japanese Cultural Fair and invite you to attend the fair.
Thank you for your kind consideration.
Sincerely yours,
Chieko Yoshikawa
Executive Director
